DescriptionSeveral multichain membrane complexes couple electron transfer involving NADH to ion transport. This property represents an NADH dehydrogenase termed complex I, whose individual subunits are designated A through N. The electron acceptor is a quinone, ubiquinone, in most bacteria and in the related mitochondrial complex. The state for this property must be set to NO for related but distinct complexes, such as that from Methanosarcina in which F420H2 replaces NADH.
