Nameselenocysteinyl-tRNA, PSTK/SepSecS pathway
DescriptionThis pathway is the archaeal and eukaryotic system for converting the serine on selenocysteine-tRNA to selenocysteine. This first enzyme is a kinase, L-seryl-tRNA(Sec) kinase (PSTK). The second is Sep-tRNA:Sec-tRNA synthase (SepSecS). In bacteria, this two-enzyme pathway is replaced by SelA (TIGR00474).
