Accession | GenProp0837 |
Name | 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate biosynthesis, PlsX/Y pathway |
Type | PATHWAY |
Description | This two-enzyme pathway for 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate biosynthesis can replace the enzyme glycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase (2.3.1.15) of E. coli, and is more widely distributed. PlsX synthesizes the acylphosphate from an acyl group on a carrier (CoA or acyl carrier protein), and PlsY (YgiH, YneS) transfers the acyl group to glycerol-3-phosphate. |
