Genome Property Definition Page

AccessionGenProp0910
Namebutyryl-CoA to butyrate, phosphotransbutyrylase pathway
TypeSYSTEM
DescriptionThis Genome Property describes a pathway that operates in butyrate-producing bacteria. A central pathway converts acetyl-CoA to butyryl-CoA. This Property represents one alternative pathway from butyryl-CoA to butyrate. The first enzyme, phosphate butyryltransferase, transfers butyrate from coenzyme A to an inorganic phosphate. The second enzyme, butyrate kinase, transfers the phosphate from butryate onto ADP, producing ATP.
