DescriptionThis system is characterized in Bacillus subtilis 168, but occurs also in Bacillus sp. M 2-6 and Paenibacillus larvae subsp. larvae B-3650. Sporulation killing factor is ribosomally translated, posttranslationally modified sactipeptide, meaning it has a Sulfur-to-Alpha-Carbon covalent crosslink from a Cys residue, catalyzed by radical SAM enzyme.
