Comment | This family consists of cell division protein FtsZ, a GTPase found in bacteria, the chloroplast of plants, and in archaebacteria. Structurally similar to tubulin, FtsZ undergoes GTP-dependent polymerization into filaments that form a cytoskeleton involved in septum synthesis. |
