CommentAcetolactate synthase is a heterodimeric thiamine pyrophosphate enzyme with large and small subunits. One of the three isozymes in E. coli K12 contains a frameshift in the large subunit gene and is not expressed. acetohydroxyacid synthase is a synonym.
