CommentTryptophan synthase catalyzes the last step in the biosynthesis of tryptophan. the beta chain contains the functional domain for or the synthesis of tryptophan from indole and serine. The enzyme requires pyridoxal-phosphate as a cofactor. The pyridoxal-P attachment site is contained within the conserved region [LIVM]-x-H-x-G-[STA]-H-K-x-N] [K is the pyridoxal-P attachment site] which is present between residues 90-100 of the model.
