Comment2-phosphosulfolactate phosphatase catalyzes the sulfonation of phosphoenolpyruvate to form 2-phospho-3-sulfolactate, the second step in coenzyme M biosynthesis. Coenzyme M is the terminal methyl carrier in methanogenesis.
