CommentThis enzyme family is the EctA of ectoine biosynthesis. Ectoine is a compatible solute, analagous to trehalose, betaines, etc., found often in halotolerant organisms. EctA is L-2,4-diaminobutyric acid acetyltransferase, also called DABA acetyltransferase.
