Comment | TraX is responsible for the acetylation of the F-pilin TraA during conjugative plasmid transfer. The purpose of this acetylation is unclear, but the reported transcriptional regulation of TraX may indicate that it is involved in the process of pilu extension/retraction [1,2,3]. |
