Comment | Members of this family are the archaeal protein Dph2, members of the universal archaeal protein family designated arCOG04112 [1]. The chemical function of this protein is analogous to the radical SAM family (PF04055), although the sequence is not homologous. The chemistry involves [4Fe-4S]-aided formation of a 3-amino-3-carboxypropyl radical rather than the canonical 5'-deoxyadenosyl radical of the radical SAM family. |
