CommentMembers of this family are the beta subunit of the 20S proteasome as found in Actinobacteria such as Mycobacterium, Rhodococcus, and Streptomyces. In Streptomyces, maturation during proteasome assembly was shown to remove a 53-amino acid propeptide. Most of the length of the propeptide is not included in this model.
