| Comment | Model TIGR03731 represents the family of all lantibiotics related to gallidermin, including epidermin, mutatin, and nisin. This protein family describes the ATP-binding subunit of a gallidermin/epidermin class lantibiotic protection transporter. It is largely restricted to gallidermin-family lantibiotic biosynthesis and export cassettes, but also occurs in orphan transporter cassettes in species that lack candidate lantibiotic precursor and synthetase genes. |
