CommentThis model describes archaeosortase D, one of several strictly archaeal subfamilies related to exosortase, the bacterial protein-sorting putative transpeptidase (see TIGR02602). ArtD is found in the genus Methanocaldococcus. Its predicted target, encoded by an adjacent gene, has a C-terminal VPIP motif-containing region (TIGR04173) likely to be its recognition site.
