Yanbao Yu, Ph.D.

Research Interests and Accomplishments

Yanbao Yu jointed the J. Craig Venter Institute as a postdoctoral fellow in May 2013, with a focus on mass spectrometry-based bioanalytical method development for high throughput protein identification and quantitation. He has been a Staff Scientist since February 2014, with expanded research interests in human microbiome, metaproteomics, inflammatory diseases and host-pathogen interactions. He earned his Ph.D in chemical biology from Fudan University in China in 2009. Before joining JCVI, he was a research scholar (2007-2009) and postdoctoral research associate (2009-2013) in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
