Sequencing

Joint Technology Center (JTC)

Since the earliest days of the JCVI and its legacy organizations, innovations in DNA sequencing technologies have been keys to advancing our research. Today, the JCVI’s high throughput DNA sequencing facility, the JTC in Rockville, MD continues this tradition of excellence. The facility, which boasts a variety of sequencing technologies and staff with expertise in a variety of high throughput sequence data processing and analysis processes, supports internal and collaborator projects.

From the most recent sequencing of the first diploid human genome and the processing of thousands of environmental metagenomics samples from the Global Ocean Sampling Expedition, to the important work on influenza strains and other microbial projects through the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Microbial Sequence Center (MSC), the JTC is constantly churning out high quality DNA sequence data to help researchers change the world.
