Community Annotation

The purpose of Community Annotation is to leverage community expertise and enhance the overall quality of the annotation. Members of the community are invited to "adopt" their favorite gene family(ies) and will be able to view the gene predictions through a Gbrowse interface. Once loaded into the EuCAP database, the structural and functional annotations are turned into a graphical display oa web page. Once the community annotation is accepted by the JCVI curator, the results will be sent back to the researcher for final approval.

To view and curate or add to mutant information, please create an an account at the EuCAP Webpage to access the online interface. This interface will also support the curation of Gene Families for which you will submit structural/functional data via e-mail (as described above).

How to submit:

E-mail submission

Note: Please contact us at the email address below for further details

For Structural Annotation: Please submit the Medtr identifier (example: Medtr5g024510) and supporting cDNA sequence to JCVI via e-mail. After your submission has been reviewed, you will receive verification or a request for additional support via e-mail. At this time, you will have the opportunity to view the changes and give final approval. Please allow sufficient time for the review process, as we will review submissions in the order they are received.

For Functional Annotation: Researchers can download the standardized spreadsheet and include the required information. The first tab is for Functional Information. Once your spreadsheet is complete, please e-mail it to JCVI for review. After your submission has been reviewed, you will receive approval or a request for additional support via e-mail. At this time, you will have the opportunity to view the changes and give final approval. Please allow sufficient time for the review process, as we will review submissions in the order they are received.

For Annotation of Mutant Information: Researchers can download the standardized spreadsheet and include the required information. The second tab is for Mutant Information and the third tab is for Allele Information.
