Location

Southeastern Kenya and Tanzania, west through northern Zambia to southern Democratic Republic of Congo (Katanga Province), south through Malawi and Mozambique to northeastern Zimbabwe, reaching its southern limit on the Save River in Mozambique (fide BROADLEY & BRANCH 2002).

Comment

The type locality give by Cope is “Madagascar”, which is probably in error for Mozambique. Illustration of Cordylus tropidosternum in Elaphe 12 (1): 62 [2004].
