Jamison M. McCorrison is a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer within the Informatics Core Services group at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI). He specializes in scripting for rapid analysis and assembly of a variety of high throughput sequencing technologies, primarily for the Human Microbiome Project. His research interests include the development of assembly analysis tools utilizing machine learning to predict and improve production pipelines while maximizing management of computational resources. His work in data tracking during pre-assembly analysis and de novo assembly has contributed towards the improvement of several JCVI production pipelines. Along with direction of novel assembly methods for many prokaryotic, eukaryotic and metagenomic projects, he is the lead coordinator of CLC Bio product deployment within the Institute. Jamison received his bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics & Molecular Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008.
