Biomarker Discovery — Proteomics and FlowGate

The Institute has been active in developing and using technologies in proteomics for 15 years. Our research in this field has included mass spectrometry (MS)-based 2D gel proteomics, mass spectrometry (MS)-based shotgun proteomics, development of sample preparation techniques for MS proteomics, development of high-throughput recombinant protein expression platforms, and proteo-bioinformatics methods to characterize metaproteomes in the context of infectious diseases. JCVI has also been instrumental in the development of computational methods to identify cell-based biomarkers of disease from flow and mass cytometry data analysis.
