Marine biology.

Ariel Rabines is a San Diego native and attended UC Santa Cruz where he studied molecular biology. Ariel has been working at JCVI since 2012 and is also a PhD student at the Scripps Institute Oceanography where he is pursuing a degree in Marine Biology. His work focuses on interactions between phytoplankton, bacteria, and other microbes in marine environments as well as commercial algae operations. Ariel is passionate about his work, surfing, gardening, and hanging out with his pup, Walnut.
