Kudos to Ken!

JCVI Professor, Kenneth Nealson, has been selected by the American Society of Microbiology to receive an award that recognizes distinguished accomplishments in interdisciplinary research and training in microbiology. The 2010 David C. White Research and Mentoring Award will be awarded to Ken for his trail blazing work that began in the 1970s to bridge the geological and microbiological sciences.

At the JCVI he is leading the Microbial and Environmental Genomics group and established the JCVI Electromicrobiology team doing exciting research on microbial fuel cells with applications ranging from water purification to bioenergy.
